Windows Mail and Calendar are becoming outlook
Microsoft will end support for Windows Mail app, Calendar, and People apps on December 31, 2024.
From current information it seems that you will not be able to manage your email, events or contacts
using these apps past this date.
The solution offered by Microsoft is their New Outlook app, which is web-based and works more like a
webmail in an Internet browser than a traditional desktop client, and is not an ideal solution if
you prefer to keep your data in your device and accessible without internet connection. New Outlook
also requires your email credentials be shared directly with Microsoft’s servers, instead of being
kept locally.

How to replace windows mail and calendar?
If you want to keep using a desktop mail app instead of sharing your emails and credentials with
Microsoft and their partners, a third-party solution is the only way. But we recommend making the switch before the end
of the year - Windows Mail does not offer features for easy export so making sure you’re set up in a
working Windows mail app before the end of support will be important.
Why choose eM Client?
eM Client is an email app for Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. It combines a wide range of
functionality with a modern and intuitive interface, all you need to manage numerous email accounts
and your contacts and calendars. We support a wide range of email providers - not only Gmail, Yahoo,
Outlook.com, and other big players, but all accounts that can use IMAP, POP or EWS protocol -
including smaller ISP providers.

How to switch to eM Client?
- Download eM Client and install it. The program automatically starts in a 30-day
Trial so you can experience all the features before making a decision on getting a
license. No registration needed!
- Set up any IMAP or Exchange accounts using the automatic setup - it’s easy and
all your synchronized accounts will be set up quickly! First account is added during the initial
startup and you can add more accounts later via the menu icon in the top left corner >
Accounts.
- If you have any POP accounts or local messages stored in Windows mail, use a
different email account to synchronize your messages out - you can for example make a free Gmail
or Yahoo email account, copy your local messages into it, set up the same account in eM Client
and move them back into the account folder or Local folders.
Even if you choose a different mail app for Windows after your free trial, eM Client allows for easy export of all
messages, calendar and contacts via Menu > File > Export.
