What is SBCGlobal?
SBCGlobal is an internet and email provider with a long history. SBCGlobal was formerly called
Southwestern Bell Inc., before changing their name to SBCGlobal in 1995. Later, the SBC Global
company officially changed their name to AT&T in 2005.
AT&T stands for American Telephone and Telegraph, however their services are not limited to
America. AT&T currently provides service to over 200 countries across the world; offering
reliable internet, telephone, and data services to their customers.
In 2008, AT&T discontinued Google for its email services and instead started using Yahoo Mail
services. This service change also led to enhanced security measures that impacted the login
process for external email apps. Despite all of these changes, you can still access your
SBCGlobal.net account with ease using eM Client.
How do I log into my SBCGlobal.net email account?
You’ll need to use AT&T’s sign in page in order to access your SBCGlobal.net email account.
There isn’t a separate page for SBCGlobal users - all domains now owned by AT&T use the same sign
in page.
Forgot your username and password? No need to panic. Follow the steps for AT&T email account
recovery to quickly regain access to your @ sbcglobal.net email.
Why is my SBCGlobal.net email not working?
Many SBCGlobal.net users have linked their account to external applications like eM Client. The
Yahoo server that hosts AT&T domains has special security measures to ensure that your
information is safe. Your SBCGlobal.net account is compatible with external applications, but
your account must be set up according to the security requirements in order to successfully
connect your account to a new external application.
There’s a few things you can do if you aren’t sure why you can’t access your SBCGlobal.net email
account:
-
Go to the AT&T
email login page. Check to make sure that the webmail login page is
working. There is a chance that the website is currently down. You can check to see if a
website is having server issues by using websites like this one. Try
restarting your
computer and checking your internet connection if you’re having external application
connectivity issues. If there seem to be no connectivity issues with the webmail login
or external application - it’s time to check your account settings.
-
Check to make sure you have updated your password with a secure mail
key. This is a
necessary step since the Yahoo server implemented OAUTH protection on their accounts to
keep your information safe. You’ll need to first do this using the web browser first.
-
Then simply open your current account settings and replace your password with the secure
mail key. Now you’re ready to access your account anywhere; on an external application
or using your web browser.
How do I access my SBCGlobal.net email in eM Client?
If you’re confused by all the changes and updates to SBCGlobal and AT&T, connecting to an
external email application like eM Client is an excellent option for users who want to keep the
login process simple.
Avoid using easily guessed passwords like your name, pet’s name, child’s name, and even the name
of your favorite sports team. With the rise of clever hackers, you’ll need to put more effort
into securing your Gmail account.
After connecting your @sbcglobal.net email account to eM Client, you’ll be able to see all of
your emails, attachments, and contacts. Using eM Client as an external application downloaded
directly onto your desktop device will make the process of checking for email updates and
getting work done easier than ever. After getting your SBC Global account setup with eM Client;
you’ll be able to access additional features including the calendar and the chat.
Here’s how to get started:
-
First, you’ll need to download eM Client
on your computer.
-
Set up your account and adjust your settings based on your preferences.
-
Go to Menu > Accounts and click the New Account button.
-
Type your @sbcglobal.net email address. For your password, use your secure mail
key.
After your account is set up on eM Client, all of your emails and information will be
automatically synchronized. Now you’re ready to check out all the great features eM Client has
to offer with your SBCGlobal email account.
