How to block emails

Have you ever opened your inbox to find out that you have received a lot of emails from unknown senders, with unwanted subjects? We know how that feels, because noone likes spam. Thankfully you can easily block unwanted senders, keeping your inbox clean and safe.

Block emails on Gmail

Blocking senders on Gmail is very simple and takes no more than two minutes.

  1. Open Gmail.
  2. Open the offending message.
  3. In the top-right corner, click More.
  4. Click Block [sender].

Block emails on Outlook

You can block senders on within a few clicks.

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Right-click on a message from the sender that you would like to block.
  3. Then hover over Security options, click Block and then click OK.

Block emails in eM Client

Creating a blacklist for emails in eM Client takes no more than a few simple clicks, thus saving time and maximizing your productivity.

  1. Right-click on the message from the sender that you would like to block.
  2. Hover over Move to Junk and select Move to Junk and blacklist email or Move to Junk and blacklist domain.

To view and manage the Blacklist rule:

  1. Head to Menu > Rules
  2. Select the Blacklist rule and click the Edit button
  3. A new window will then pop up and you can add new items or remove any of the email addresses and domains already in it.

Block texts from email addresses

Sometimes spam won't be sent to your email but directly to your phone. Can you block an email address in your phone? Yes! You need to set up the address as a contact and block it.

Block texts from email addresses on Android

  1. Open the “Messages” app.
  2. Long-press the message.
  3. Choose Add Contact.
  4. Create the new contact, add a Name (just call it "Spam" or similar).
  5. Then go to your Contacts and find the new contact you created.
  6. Find the three-dot menu (usually in top right) and choose Block contact.
  7. Confirm your block and you're done!

Block texts from email addresses on iPhone

  1. Open the "Messages" app.
  2. Tap on the message.
  3. At the top, tap on the arrow pointing right and open Info.
  4. Click "Done" to save.
  5. Open the "Settings" app.
  6. Select “Messages” then “Blocked,” or “Blocked Contacts.”
  7. At the bottom tab "Add new".
  8. Find and select the contact you added previously.
