eM Client Release Candidate

eM Client 7 is almost ready. Ever since the launch of the first Beta, we've been working on fixing all the issues that were found and reported during the first large-scale testing. Now we are happy to announce the launch of eM Client 7 Release Candidate for public use.

eM Client 7 RC

What's new

The Release Candidate is a version which is being released for all users. It no longer uses eM Client Preview data folder, because the final version is going to be almost identical. The RC serves to make sure that all important issues reported in the beta phase were fixed. The progress between Beta 2 and Release Candidate is significant. There are tons of bug fixes, improved overall performance and user experience.

Translations

The new version includes Danish localization and better support for Japanese and Chinese data input. However please note that some texts may remain in English in some localizations for the moment, an issue that will be fixed before the final version release.

Feedback

If you discover any bugs or issues while using the RC version, please report them to our support team at testing@emclient.com and we will look into each reported problem thoroughly.

eM Client BETA 2

eM Client 7 is getting ever closer to its release. Since the launch of the first Beta, we've been working on resolving all the issues that were discovered and reported to us during the first large-scale testing. Now we're releasing Beta 2 for public use in order to detect any remaining issues prior to eM Client 7 full-scale launch.

Label support

What's new

Beta 2 includes many fixes reported to us by testers and users who have participated in the first Beta. Fixes include major improvements for conversation view, high-res and touch displays support and GMail labels improvements.

Improved UI

The new version has a completely new look and feel. With Beta 2 we continued to work on improving the user experience on all computers and thus it now features multiple touch gestures with touch mode like multiselect, drag & drop in configuration and better navigation with quick scrolling.

Conversation View

Conversations also received a lot of improvements including Collapse and Expand All, Communication and Attachment history and many conversations scenario fixes, resolving issues with mixed conversations and other incorrect behavior cases that we've come across during testing.

Translations

The new version now includes several new localizations options like French, Russian, Swedish, Dutch, Hungarian, Turkish and Slovak.

Issues

In case you come across any issues with the Beta release, please make sure to report them to our support team at testing@emclient.com and we will look into each reported problem thoroughly.

Good news

Are you excited for eM Client 7 launch? We have some good news for you, today we're releasing a beta version for public.

Label support

You can download this new version and finally see what's new for yourself. By doing so, you can help us find a few last issues that you may come across during your use. Reporting any issues will ensure that version 7 will be in the best shape possible for the final release.

What's new

eM Client 7 has many new features that some of you have been very keen to see included and which we've written about over the last couple of months on our blog. These include conversations, delayed sending, vacation responder, support for GMail labels, new reminders, translation of incoming messages, improved performance or quick text. We've reworked most of the application's features to suit both the new interface and the new core which is now running on Chromium.

New Interface

The new version has a completely new look and feel. We've also added a few new themes including a highly requested dark theme. The new interface also has a lot of improvements for touch devices and high resolution displays.

Upgrading your version

Note that since we've rebuilt a lot of the application's core features, updating the application will migrate all your data to a new format of eM Client 7. This may take a while as the database has to be carefully exported and imported to its new model. We've added a little something to keep you busy while the migration takes place. Play a couple of minesweeper games during the update and you'll be done in no time.

Issues

In case you come across any issues with the Beta release, please make sure to report them to our support team at testing@emclient.com and we will look into each reported problem thoroughly.

Gmail Labels Support

Update about the new version 7. After a holiday break, we're ready to share more details about new features for the new release.

Label support

Gmail Label Support

Are you a Gmail user? We have reworked the way eM Client synchronizes with Gmail and your server data. Since Gmail introduced labels, all the labels were synchronised as folders with Gmail. With Conversations however we've decided to make a few adjustments. Your Gmail labels are now synchronised as categories and by assigning the categories, the label will be attached to the message and sorted to appropriate folder. Just as if you were working with your online Gmail interface.

Find your account labels in categories to assign label to email. All your labels will be displayed as if they were regular folders, below your Inbox.

Right click your message and select Categories to apply the label for the selected message or select the items from the message list and select Mark to apply category in the main application window. Messages will be sorted in no time to appropriate label folders, where you can find the labeled messages.

eM Client 6 and OAuth

Did you come across any issues with eM Client recently? We have received several reports regarding eM Client authentication problem with Gmail servers via OAuth.

IE and OAuth

eM Client, Gmail and OAuth

Some of our users have reported problems while using eM Client and authenticating with Gmail servers. The application notifies users about JavaScript being disabled in default browser.

Our developers have inspected this in detail and discovered that the embedded OAuth features are being blocked by Gmail servers for Internet Explorer. Since IE is currently the default browser for eM Client 6, this has been marked as the root of this problem. Please note that we're working on the new version 7 which will feature Chromium to replace IE as the default browser.

We'll be including a workaround for the issue in the next update for version 6 available in the Check for Updates option or you can download the update below if you're experiencing the issue.
