eM Client is Windows based E-mail and Groupware client software with many advanced features.
Who does it develop ?
E&S Software Ltd. is a young London based software company with zest to compete with MS Outlook. We evaluate our previous experiences with both e-mails and Calendaring software to create a full-featured, but easy-to-use E-mail Client.
When will be eM Client ready as a stable release?
We have a complete road plan to proceed and we should be able to release it at the end of September 2008.
What is so revolutionary about eM Client ?
eM Client will be first client to fully integrate CalDAV (with maintained compatibility for GroupDAV) as well as ActiveSync for mobile phone synchronization. So customers will be offered a complete and easy to use e-mail & groupWare solution. We plan to deploy Google Sync (Calendars& Contacts) as well as full Web 2.0 widgets support for applications like Meebo, Facebook or MySpace.
Does eM Client support MS Exchange ?
We support every mail exchange (mail server) system that uses IMAP or POP3 protocol. Implementation of native MS Exchange protocol (Calendar, Tasks, Contacts…) is currently in progress.
What should I do, when eM Client freezes, while trying to view e-mails that contain HTML?
You have to turn off the Data Execution Prevention on your system. You can find this option in System properties -> Advanced. The checkbook Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only should be checked to avoid this issue.
Is it difficult to import e-mails from my old E-mail Client?
Import to eM Client is very very easy. You can import your e-mails directly from MS Outlook, Outlook Express or The Bat!. You can also easily backup/export your e-mails to .eml files and import them back whenever you want to. Import from .eml files is also the right way to import e-mails from Thunderbird or Eudora.
How can I set eM Client to work with my Gmail account?
First of all, you have to log-in to your Gmail account using the web interface. In the Settings dialog, choose Forwarding and POP/IMAP and click Enable IMAP. Then create your account in eM Client with username YourUsername@gmail.com and using imap.gmail.com as the incoming and outgoing mail server.
Can I create simple rules to prevent receiving unwanted e-mails?
Yes, you just have to click on Tools in the main menu and then choose Rules. Create a new rule by selecting a template and modifying it, or create your own one with different options and settings.
How can I create e-mail templates and signatures?
Click on Tools in the main menu, then go to Settings and choose Mail Format folder. From there you can manage your e-mail templates and signatures.
How often are my e-mail folders synchronized?
For POP3 account, you can set the time interval for automatic mail checking in the Settings dialog. IMAP account folders are synchronized every time you view their content. If you don’t want the folders to be automatically synchronized (for example if you use GPRS connection), then click File in the main menu and select Work Off-line.
