What to expect in eM Client 7: Delayed Send

Since eM Client 6 was released you have started putting out requests for features that should be included in the upcoming release and now we’re finally ready to share more details about the next version. We'll be releasing a series of post introducing the new features.

Delayed Send Feature

This has been a long awaited feature, our users have started voting in the feature on the community support almost 2 years ago and it's almost a year since we've decided to include this in the new release.

Finally, eM Client 7 will include a delayed send feature option that you can use to schedule your messages to send on a specific time. This can be helpful when communicating overseas or if you just have something unconfirmed. You'll be able to use this option by navigating to the File Menu of new message window, similarly as you may be used to from sending Mass Mail.

What to expect in eM Client 7: IMAP Support for Outlook.com Accounts

Since eM Client 6 was released you have started putting out requests for features that should be included in the upcoming release and now we’re finally ready to share more details about the next version. We'll be releasing a series of post introducing the new features.

eM Client 7 features IMAP/SMTP sync on Outlook.com

Outlook.com with IMAP/SMTP sync

Outlook.com users can look forward to synchronizing their accounts using the standard IMAP and SMTP protocols as you may be used to from other account types. Up until now, it was necessary to synchronize your account over the AirSync protocol, which has not proven so reliable and may have been generating a couple of issues when the Outlook.com servers have been swamped with requests. We believe the new way of synchronizing your account will be more efficient and will considerably decrease the number of issues while synchronizing your items with Outlook.com mail servers.

However, note, that this doesn't mean we're dropping the Calendar and Contacts support on Outlook.com, these items will be safely synchronized over the existing AirSync protocol and you willl still be able to work with both services as well as your email or disable your calendar in case you don't use it.

What to expect in eM Client 7: Chromium

Since eM Client 6 was released you have started putting out requests for features that should be included in the upcoming release and now we’re finally ready to share more details about the next version. We'll be releasing a series of post introducing the new features.

eM Client is fully compatible with Windows 10

Chromium/WebKit Application Core

Up until now, eM Client was running on several system components used with the .NET framework. As this has been a limitation for us in more and more cases lately, we’ve decided that it’s time to move to new tools. We’ve done major changes to the application to integrate a WebKit core. This will help us to get rid of some Internet Explorer issues that have been bugging us for years in some specific cases.

Using WebKit essentially means that the main application browser will be Chrome instead of the current implementation of Internet Explorer, this will also help us improving compatibility with Google's features in the future.

Subscribe to public folders on Exchange

If you're using an Exchange account in eM Client, we have some good news for you. Some of our users have been missing the option to subscribe and unsubscribe public folders on the Exchange server. This feature is now a part of eM Client 6 and will be available to all our users from now on.

introducing public folders for Exchange

You can find this new feature in your account settings under Tools > Accounts > Your Exchange Account > Mail, Contacts and Calendars. Scroll down to open up the list of public folders and use the "Subscribe" and "Unsubscribe" buttons to add or remove the folder from your list of synchronized folders. All subscribed folders should be listed below your account in the left pane.

Before subscribing to folders, make sure your Exchange account is fully synchronized with the server, as the folders can be listed only when the account has been fully synchronized.

If you come across any issues with this new feature, make sure to let us know on the Community Support or our VIP support if you're a PRO license user.
